Vegemite is the best. There is no substitute. Full stop. I like it spread thick. Not light. I get the big jar because you can’t have too much on hand.

Love Vegemite always been a staple in my pantry. However after some research I have found that the ingredients are not that good for my family. It has an additive 150c Ammonia caramel which is possibly carcinogenic and may be toxic to the immune system. Also has artificial flavouring. I am sad this is the case as I am sure the manufacturer could come up with an alternative which would make Vegemite safer to consume.

Vegemite is an absolute breakfast essential for me, Monday through Friday, without fail. The rich, savoury flavour and umami-packed taste make it the perfect way to start the day. A little goes a long way, especially on a slice of buttered toast, where it balances salty and creamy in the best way possible.
