the coles 5 star mince is great to use in cooking, good for tacos, nachos, lasagne etc and is never watery or fatty. we freeze for later in the week and it always cooks well

This is a tricky review to write, because when you knowingly buy heart smart/extra trim mince you do know that the extra leanness of it likely means it will be drier. That’s exactly what my experience of this is. The compromise for health, means compromise on taste and texture. Not so great for meatballs or taco mince, but not too bad for something that is slow, or low heat cooked, like a rich chilli. 4 stars because it does live up to it’s name of extra trim, but looses a star because there was quite a lot of water loss which further compromised the tenderness of the mince.

I usually get the Extra Extra Lean nice but this is not a bad substitute and a decent price in comparison l.

great product for a family trying to eat leaner and less hormones in their meat. the price does reflect on the quality but still tastes great

Good for any mince dish. Good to know it has less fat in it but sometimes fat is needed for flavour.
