The paste smells so good. I made it in a rice cooker. Three cups of rice, three and a half cups of water, then add paste and mix together until well blended, salt to taste. The rice came out so fragrant, so good. It tasted good too. I will buy more.

Super easy by just adding it to washed rice and pop it into the rice cooker. Can also be used for stir-fries or as broth. Convenient and will leave mouthful of aroma.

Ayam brand has extensive products and this Hainanese Chicken Rice Paste is probably the closest to the home cooking taste version which originated from Singapore or Malaysia. Taste may vary for different origin areas. It’s very delicious and can be overpowering. I reduce the amount than what recommended. I hope more major supermarkets may stock them as currently only larger store have them.
