5-Star Review of Rock Ridge Packhouse Aus Hass 6447 (sinclair)
These Rock Ridge Hass avocados (the Aus Hass 64447 Sinclair batch) are bloody rippers! Picked up a couple from the shops this week and they’ve been spot on. Rock Ridge is that North QLD family outfit with heaps of trees up on the Tablelands—proper volcanic soil stuff that makes for top-notch fruit. Cut into one yesterday arvo and it was creamy as, nice pale green flesh with zero strings or brown bits inside. Flavour’s rich and nutty like a good Hass should be, not watery or bland. The skin’s that classic pebbly one that goes from green to purply-black when ripe—perfect ripeness check. Smashed it on toast with some salt and chilli flakes, absolute brekkie winner. Texture: Buttery smooth, melts in your mouth without being mushy. These ones ripened evenly too—no waiting forever then suddenly they’re overripe. Pros: • Super creamy and flavour-packed, feels premium compared to some supermarket basics • Consistent quality—no duds in the bag, all good size and weight • Aussie-grown from a solid farm (love supporting the Howe family mob up north) • Great for guac, salads, or just straight scooping—versatile legend Cons: • Pricey when they’re in season like now, but you get what you pay for • They ripen quick once soft, so eat ’em within a day or two or fridge ’em • Wish the packs had more info on the label sometimes (like exact farm story), but that’s minor If you’re after reliable, tasty Hass that aren’t hit-or-miss, grab these Rock Ridge ones. 5/5 from me—easily some of the best I’ve had lately. Who’s team avocado on toast every day? 🥑🔥
