An iconic Australian spread, vegemite is a savory, yeast extract with a strong, salty, and umami flavor. It's a love-it-or-hate-it food, with many Aussies enjoying it on toast, while others find its intensity overwhelming. Vegemite is packed with B vitamins and can be used in cooking beyond toast. A must have in my household! But do note that Vegemite is high in sodium, so it's best consumed in moderation.
