I usually dont like fried shallots, but I had these in the pantry and didn’t want them to go to waste. I added them to simmering water to cook barley, expecting it to add a mild onion flavour to the grains and that I would discard the cooking liquid. But it turned out to be absolutley delicious, broth and all, so this product has convinced a fried shallots hater. Maybe I’ll need to give fried shallots in their true cripsy form another try.
