slightly higher price point but readily available from all coles supermarkets. good fresh vegetables with a nice crunch and a slight sweet flavour. convenient for a quick snack or cooking. Great with peanut butter or in a salad for extra crunch.

✅ Positives 1. Low in calories — Celery is mostly water (~95 %) and very low in energy. 2. Good source of hydration & fibre — Because of the high water content and some fibre, celery helps with digestion and keeping you hydrated. 3. Contains nutrients and plant compounds — Celery provides vitamins such as vitamin K, folate, potassium, and antioxidants which support health (blood pressure, bone, etc.). 4. Organic means fewer synthetic chemicals — Choosing organic reduces exposure to synthetic pesticides/herbicides that might be more common in conventional celery. 5. Versatile and easy to add to meals — Trimmed celery can be eaten raw or cooked, in salads, soups, snacks, so it’s convenient. ⸻ ⚠️ Negatives / Things to watch 1. Not a “negative‐calorie” food — The idea that celery burns more calories to digest than it provides is a myth. 2. Limited macronutrients — While it has vitamins and water/fibre, celery doesn’t supply much protein or fat, so relying on it heavily can leave you missing other nutrients. 3. Possible allergic reactions or sensitivity — Some people have oral allergy syndrome with celery, especially raw; parts of the plant may trigger mild reactions. 4. Pesticide residue risk in non-organic versions — Conventional celery can carry higher pesticide residue due to its structure and growing methods, so organic may matter more. 5. Overconsumption issues — If you eat a lot of celery but don’t balance with other nutrient-dense foods, you might displace better sources of protein, healthy fats, etc. Also, excess fibre/water may cause digestive discomfort in some
