These Coles Finest Pain Au Chocolate pastries are buttery, soft, and delicious. I like that these are made using real butter and that they have a generous amount of creamy chocolate inside each pastry. The pastries are good eaten as they are, dunked in hot chocolate or coffee, heated in the microwave or oven. These feel like a more premium pastry than other brands, and the pastries are large and generous in size. Tasty, versatile, premium. 5 stars!

Positive Feedback (What People Like) 🐔 Good Quality & Taste (Often) • Many customers report that Coles chicken products are tender, moist, and flavourful when cooked properly, particularly the fresh chicken breast fillets which are lean and high in protein. 🍽️ Versatile & Convenient • Chicken breast fillets and prepared options (like the garlic butter or prosciutto-wrapped versions) are praised for being easy to cook and versatile in dishes like stir-fries, roasting, grilling or sandwiches. 🐥 Animal Welfare Certification • Coles brand fresh chicken is RSPCA Approved, meaning the birds are raised under higher welfare standards (e.g., better freedom of movement) than conventional chicken. 💡 Convenience Products • Some ready-to-use items (e.g., deli shredded chicken breast) are liked for their time-saving convenience and usefulness in salads, wraps, pizzas and quick meals. 💰 Value When on Special • Many shoppers consider it a good value especially when products are on sale or reduced, and some people stock up to freeze for later use. ⸻ 👎 Negative Feedback (Common Complaints) 😒 Inconsistent Freshness / Unexpected Issues • There are occasional reports of off smells, slime, or unexpected colour changes (e.g., dark or green-looking areas) in Coles chicken products, which consumers find off-putting even if some issues like “deep pectoral myopathy” are not food safety hazards according to experts. Note: these are rare relative to sales volume but stick out when they happen. 🪪 Quality Variation • Some reviewers online (e.g., Reddit threads) say the texture or flavour of supermarket chicken can be inconsistent, with occasional “woody” or tough breast pieces reported. This type of feedback isn’t always specific to Coles Finest, but it reflects general supermarket chicken experiences. 🍗 Prepared Products Have Critics • Ready-to-cook or seasoned products (e.g., garlic/herb or southern style) receive mixed reviews — some customers love them, but others dislike the coating, flavour balance, or how the product cooks up. 💸 Price vs Perceived Value • A few shoppers feel that some Coles branded options (especially “made easy” prepared versions) don’t justify their price compared to cooking plain chicken yourself or buying from a butcher. 🤢 Rare Finding Reports • There are occasional online anecdotes about strange objects or completely unexpected things in chicken pieces (e.g., unusual materials), reflecting very isolated experiences. These are extremely rare but often get shared widely when they do occur
