This is a convenience-first steak that tries to balance decent quality with speed and price. It’s not aiming to compete with a proper butcher’s cut — and you can tell — but it still does a solid job for quick weeknight meals. Scotch fillet (ribeye) is known for its marbling and flavour, and this cut still delivers some of that richness. When cooked properly, you get a reasonably juicy steak with a mild beef flavour. That said, because it’s a thinner “quick cook” cut, it lacks the depth and tenderness you’d expect from a thicker, premium scotch fillet.

My son loves this Coles no added hormone beef. He is teaching himself to cook and is making healthy lunches for work. He says this product is delicious and non fatty. It is easy and quick for him to cook by himself which is another positive.

I buy this meat for my son to make his work lunches. One packet is enough for 4 meals. He loves how quickly it cooks to his liking so he is not in the kitchen very long. Great if cooking isn't really your thing. He loves the taste, texture and that it has no hormones added to it. It also does not have major fatty pieces in it. Meat can be expensive so I stock up and freeze it whenever it comes on special.
