If you buy these & ate them fresh, they would be quite nice but as I bought these right on their use by date they weren’t as good as they would have been fresh I don’t feel. The pastry is still that flakey pastry with the soft, creamy sweet custard in the middle which is really nice. The pastry on the bottom is more dense. It’s a good, cheaper alternative to the real Portuguese tarts if you are craving them but are on a budget.

Goes well with a strong coffee. Deceptively not sweet, the first bite was a nice surprise. I'd buy again. Better on a cold day.
