Great value tenders. They cook well air fried or oven baked. Pair nicely in wraps with salad or served with chips.

✅ Positives • Convenience: These tenders are ready to cook from frozen and save a lot of prep time. For example, the Woolworths product lists simple oven or air-fryer instructions. • Protein source: Being chicken breast-based (in many brands) means they provide a decent amount of protein. For example, one variant had ~12.7 g protein per 100 g. • Taste & appeal: Sweet chilli flavour means these are more exciting than plain chicken, which can help with variety, especially for kids or busy dinners. For example the retailer notes “quick easy dinner… nice in wraps with salad”. • Freezer friendly / less waste: You can keep them in the freezer for when you need something quick, which can reduce reliance on take-away. • Portion control: Since they come as individual tenders, you can more easily count how many you eat compared to a big piece of chicken or restaurant meal. ⸻ ⚠️ Negatives • Processed / added ingredients: These tenders often have a breaded coating, added oils, flavourings, sugar, and coating/carbohydrate components. For example a brand lists chicken (40%) plus flour, rice flour, sugar, vegetable oils, etc. • Relatively high in fat/carbs compared to plain chicken: Because of the crumb/coating and marinade, fat, carbs and sodium go up. Example: one product had ~12.9 g fat and 22.2 g carbs per 100 g. • Sodium / salt content can be high: e.g., one brand shows 629 mg sodium per 100 g. Higher sodium can be a concern if you’re watching blood pressure or salt intake. • May not be as “clean” as fresh chicken breast: Fresh plain chicken breast gives you protein with minimal extras; by contrast these tenders are breaded and flavoured which adds more calories, oils, and additives. • Cost per portion may be higher than DIY: If you bought plain chicken and made your own sweet chilli coating, you might end up paying less—though with more time/effort. • Cooking method matters: If you deep fry them (as opposed to oven or air-fryer), the calorie/fat count will increase further. • Allergens & coating issues: Many of these contain gluten, wheat, soy, etc (due to breading). Example: contains gluten, soy, wheat
