I find that buying the Edgell tinned Sliced Beetroot saves me a lot of time (when I’m flat out busy) than buying it fresh. I’ve also noticed that it’s not as sweet as fresh beetroot but it still tastes great and I use it in salads, wraps and burgers. Furthermore it does have a longer shelf life than fresh beetroot. Also eating too much tinned beetroot makes urine have a pinkish tinge but I don’t think that’s cause for concern. My only concern however is that it is quite high in salt which can interfere with people who are on blood pressure medications, and it is also high in oxalates which can contribute to kidney stones.
