Western Star Original Spreadable Butter Blend Tub generally receives positive feedback for its creamy texture, iconic taste, and convenience of being spreadable straight from the fridge. However, some debate exists over whether it is considered "real" butter compared to traditional block butter. Positive Feedback Creamy and Spreadable: Reviewers consistently praise the product for its soft, spreadable texture straight from the fridge, which prevents tearing of fresh bread or toast. Great Taste: Many consider it a staple due to its distinct, rich, and creamy "iconic Aussie taste" that distinguishes it from other brands. Versatility: The product is highlighted as a practical, everyday favorite, ideal for use on sandwiches, toast, pancakes, and for light cooking. Australian Made: Customers appreciate that it is crafted with care from local dairy and made in Australia from at least 90% Australian ingredients. Negative Feedback & Common Debates Not 100% Butter: The product is a blend of butter and vegetable oil, not a solid block of pure butter. Some consumers feel the marketing language is misleading, and purists note a taste difference compared to traditional, non-spreadable butter when used for certain applications like baking. Health Concerns: The product is still high in saturated fat and not recommended by some health organizations for those with high cholesterol, despite having less saturated fat than regular butter. "Melt Colour" Difference: One customer noted that the spread melts into a paler yellow compared to other brands, which may or may not affect perception of the product. Price: While many find it a quality product, one reviewer mentioned they only buy it occasionally when on sale because it's slightly more expensive than some other options.

Spreads really easily straight from the fridge which I love! Not a strong butter flavour though I think it would be a lot better with more flavour.
