I also like that they are high in protien and low in fat. They come in a delicious traditional 'English recipe' tomato flavoured sauce, and taste great eaten as they are, over toast, or baked with cheese into a toastie. Ooh this is so perfect in the morning with my toast, avocados, eggs, cheese and whatever deli meat I have - bacon, ham, salami, sausages. I love that you can eat it straight out of a can - super convenient and so healthy. 😋Versatile too as it is also wonderful on its own. I like this English recipe for its sweet tangy sauce, plus no broken beans. Consistency is great - not too runny or thick. Enjoy!

I come from the United Kingdom and I find that the UK baked beans generally have a more savory flavor profile compared to the ones I've been exposed to from Australia. It's difficult to put my finger on exactly what the difference is, but I believe it may lean towards a slightly vinegary or more intensely savory flavor. I'm always sure I have a can or two of beans stored in my pantry, just in case I might not feel like going to the store. They go with so many different things and are generally a healthier alternative to a lot of the processed foods out there, but it's worth watching out for the salt and sugar content.
