Woolies’ butter croissants are a pleasant surprise for something straight from the supermarket shelf. They’ve got that soft, flaky texture you want in a croissant, with a gentle buttery aroma that fills the kitchen once they’re warmed. The layers aren’t quite as crisp or airy as a bakery-fresh one, but for the price and convenience, they hold their own beautifully. Perfect for an easy breakfast or light snack - especially when lightly toasted and paired with jam, ham and cheese, or a drizzle of honey. They taste indulgent without feeling heavy, and the packet always seems to disappear faster than expected. A solid four stars - a little more flakiness and depth of butter flavour would make them near perfect.
