✅ Positives • Low in calories: One source lists ~ 19 kcal for ~80 g. • Very low in fat: ~ 0.2 g fat in that same serving. • Simple ingredients (for many variants): diced tomatoes, tomato juice, maybe salt/acidity regulator. • Convenient and versatile: Great pantry staple for soups, stews, pasta sauces. • Vegan / vegetarian friendly: No animal-derived ingredients in basic form. • Low sodium option exists (“no added salt” version) which is helpful if you’re watching salt. ⸻ ⚠️ Negatives / things to watch • It is a canned product: while fine, canned tomatoes may have slightly altered flavour or texture compared to fresh. One review says “quite an acidic taste”. • For some variants the sodium can be higher: one listing shows sodium ~120 mg per 100 g. • Because they are tomatoes, they are acidic. If you have reflux / GERD, the acidity might trigger symptoms. Indeed one source says the product “is not GERD friendly”. • Nutritional value is modest: while low-calorie and simple, the product is mostly water + tomato. It won’t supply large amounts of protein, fat, or many micronutrients (though tomatoes have vitamin C, lycopene etc). • If you rely on it too much, you might miss out on variety / fresh produce benefits (texture, highest micronutrient density
