👍 Positives (Pros) 1. More economical option sometimes • The “Odd Bunch” range is intended to sell produce that might otherwise go to waste due to shape, size, or slight blemishes, often at a lower price than regularly graded fruit. • Some shoppers report saving money compared to higher-graded produce at regular prices. 2. Reduces food waste • Buying misshapen or “odd” fruit like prepacked avocados helps reduce the amount of edible food that supermarkets reject and that might otherwise go to landfill — a sustainability plus. 3. Avocado nutrition is strong (for the product itself) • Avocados are nutrient-dense: healthy fats (mostly monounsaturated), fibre, potassium and vitamins like E and C. That means when they’re ripe and good quality, they’re a healthy addition to meals. 4. Convenient packaging • Prepacked in 1 kg bags, the product is ready to pick up in store without having to choose each avocado individually. ⸻ 👎 Negatives (Cons) 1. Variable quality and size • A common theme with “odd bunch” avocados is that fruit may be smaller, oddly shaped, or inconsistent in ripeness, meaning some may be underripe or overripe. This is part of why they’re classed as “odd” produce. 2. Price sometimes not as good as expected • In some cases shoppers have noted that the difference in price compared to regular produce isn’t huge, especially after discarding fruit that doesn’t ripen well. 3. Ripening unpredictability • Multipacks like this can include fruit that ripens unevenly — some may stay hard while others go mushy quickly — which can feel wasteful if you end up throwing some away. 4. No detailed nutrition on pack • Official product listings often don’t include specific nutritional values for these prepacked odd bunch avocados, which means you just rely on general avocado nutrition rather than pack-specific data

The Odd Bunch 1kg Prepacked Avocados (often available at Woolworths) receive highly positive feedback for exceptional value, creamy texture, and great taste. While they are "imperfect" with potential cosmetic blemishes or small bruises, they are widely considered a budget-friendly option ($5.50 - $6.50/kg) with perfectly edible, high-quality flesh. Key Feedback Trends: Value & Quality: Users consistently highlight them as excellent value, providing creamy, tasty avocados that are much cheaper than buying individual, perfect-looking fruit. Appearance: They are typically smaller and may have dents, scars, or blemishes, but these rarely affect the taste or quality of the inside. Ripening: They are often found to be ready to eat or ripen quickly. A common tip is to store them with bananas to speed up the process if they are too firm. Common Issue: Users mention that because they are bought in a bag, they often ripen all at once, requiring fast consumption or freezing. Usage: Popular for daily consumption, especially for school lunches, with many users recommending them for smashed avocado on toast. Overall, The Odd Bunch avocados are strongly recommended for those looking to save money, avoid food waste, and who do not mind, or even prefer, smaller or slightly imperfect fruit.

The odd bunch products are one of my favourite things that woolies do. I bought this obviously not expecting them to be perfect, however I was really disappointed. Every single one was brown on the inside. Two were still usable after cutting pieces away, the rest were just gross. They were not overripe or left too long to open. They also were quite tasteless. My toddler loves avocado toast for breakfast but was not a fan, neither was I. I wouldn’t purchase again. In my opinion it’s worth splurging for the more expensive avos, or buying direct from farm.

The Odd Bunch Prepared Avocado is a super convenient option for anyone who loves avo but doesn’t always catch it at the perfect ripeness. The texture is generally smooth and spreadable, making it great for toast, wraps, or quick meal prep, and it’s nice knowing it helps reduce food waste by using “imperfect” produce. On the downside, the flavour can be slightly milder than freshly cut avocado, and like most pre-prepped avo, it can brown a little quicker once opened. Overall, it’s a handy, budget-friendly shortcut that still delivers that creamy avocado goodness with minimal fuss.
