Woolworth Banana loaf is the best loaf that my family love. It is very yummy and delicious. Affordable and budget friendly. My pocket is happy. Highly recommended.

Soft, moist, and sweet without going overboard. It’s a simple, satisfying loaf that works well toasted with a bit of butter. I have it for a quick morning tea treat.

This banana bread has just the right amount of banana flavour and it's never dry. Nice to enjoy with a coffee

This banana loaf is lovely and moist. As a change I have a slice with custard for dessert. It has a nice texture and tastes great.

👍 Positives 1. Good banana content (among pre-made loaves) • In a CHOICE comparison, the Woolworths Banana Loaf (or Banana Bread) had about 28 % banana by weight, which was among the higher banana proportions among supermarket pre-made loaves. • It uses “real Australian bananas.” 2. Locally sourced ingredients / Australian origin • The loaf is made in Australia, and one listing notes “made in Australia from at least 93% Australian ingredients.” • Another listing (for a variant) states “made in Australia from at least 83% Australian ingredients.” 3. Convenience • It’s ready-made, so no baking needed. Useful when you want banana bread without the effort. • Available widely through Woolworths (in-store and online) makes it accessible. 4. Fairly rich in taste / texture • The ingredient list suggests a moist loaf (with canola oil, eggs, humectants etc.) which tend to give a good mouthfeel. • Many consumer reviews (implicitly) suggest it is “moist” or satisfying (though I didn’t find many detailed user reviews specific to taste). ⸻ 👎 Negatives / Drawbacks 1. High in sugar / calories / discretionary food status • Per FatSecret, 100 g has 342 kcal, 48 g carbs, 29 g sugar, 13.8 g fat. • Another listing (CalorieCounter) gives similar values: 351 kcal / 100 g, 52 g carbs, 31 g sugar. • Because of this, as part of a balanced diet, it’s more of an occasional treat rather than a regular staple. 2. Low fibre / low nutritional density (apart from banana) • Fibre is modest (e.g. 1.0 – 2.2 g per 100 g, depending on source). • It doesn’t offer much in the way of “whole grain goodness” or high micronutrient diversity beyond what bananas contribute. 3. Use of additives / preservatives / humectants • The ingredient list includes preservative (potassium sorbate), humectant (E422, from palm), thickeners (1422, xanthan gum, etc.). • Some people prefer cleaner label products with fewer additives or preservatives. 4. Allergens / not suitable for some diets • Contains egg, milk, gluten, wheat. • May contain traces of peanuts, soy, tree nuts (via cross contact). • Not suitable for gluten-free, vegan, or dairy-free diets (unless one of their “free from” variants). • In CHOICE’s review of supermarket banana breads, their “Free From Gluten” option (Woolworths) had tradeoffs like lower protein and higher saturated fat. 5. Sodium / salt content • The nutrition info shows nontrivial sodium: e.g. 375 mg per 100 g in one listing. • For processed / packaged “sweet breads”, salt is often in there for shelf stability and flavor—but it’s a negative if you are watching salt intake. 6. Cost vs making one’s own • Pre-made loaves tend to cost more per 100 g compared to homemade, especially if you can get good ingredients. CHOICE’s analysis shows that many supermarket banana loaves have a higher “price per 100 g” relative to baking your own. • There is less control over ingredients (sweetness, fats, type of flour, etc.). 7. Shelf life / freshness • Because it’s packaged and uses preservatives/humectants, there might be a compromise: more shelf life but possibly less freshness compared to freshly baked. Some consumers may perceive it as less fresh over time (though I don’t have many direct reviews on that). • Also, packaged baked goods can sometimes dry out or lose texture.

This banana loaf is soft, moist, and has a delicious banana flavour that’s not overpowering. Great with coffee or warmed up with a bit of butter. Could use a touch of spice (like cinnamon) for that homemade feel, but still a winner.

Very moist banana bread, freshly made. Bought a loaf instead of the individual cake pieces tastes better.
