Woolworths Red Cayenne Chilli (Medium)

$ 3.9

Red Cayenne Chillies are a mild-medium chilli, with sweet notes, often referred to as a 'long red'. They are a great all-rounder chilli for those who are after adding a hint of heat that is family-friendly. Use Red Cayennes in a range of family favourites such as chilli con carne, bolognese, lasagne, soups, stews and more. Red Cayennes are also perfect to use as a substitute for any recipe that call for hotter red chillies, such as Asian salads and curries, where you want to keep the flavour but control the heat. How to Store: Best stored in the refrigerator. Freeze leftover chillies for future use: wash then pat dry with a paper towel or clean cloth then cut off the stems, slice and freeze in a container or freezer bag. Where They're Grown: Chillies are grown in the tropical and subtropical climates of Australia. The majority of our chillies are grown in Bundaberg in QLD, which has the ideal climate for growing chillies. Availability: All year round. Health Benefits: Chillies are high in Vitamin C and antioxidants that support healthy immune function.

Woolworths Red Cayenne Chillies (both fresh punnet and dried pepper) generally receive positive feedback for being fresh, good quality, great value, and providing a nice "kick" or "heat" without being overwhelmingly spicy for most, making them versatile for family dishes like bolognese, soups, and Mexican food, though some spice lovers find them mild and a few note they are grown in India, not Australia. Users love their convenience, affordability compared to name brands, and how they last well in the fridge. Key Feedback Points Heat Level: Described as mild-medium, a good "hint of heat," or having a nice "kick," but not too hot for many, making them family-friendly. Some find them quite spicy ("mouth was on fire"), while others find them mild, so it's subjective. Flavor: Great, spicy flavor that's earthy and adds depth to dishes. Versatility: Excellent in curries, stews, bolognese, nachos, omelettes, and as a general spice rub. Value & Quality: Considered great value for money, similar quality to more expensive brands, and fresh. Packaging: The fresh punnet packaging keeps them fresh, and the dried pepper comes in a convenient, recyclable glass jar. Origin: A minor point for some is that the dried pepper is sourced from India, not Australia. Overall Consensus It's a highly recommended, affordable staple for adding controllable heat and flavor to everyday cooking, perfect for those wanting spice without extreme intensity.
