The price of apples of skyrocketed so we normally buy granny Smith or pink lady however for two dollars more a kilo we decided to buy the royal gala apples. These are definitely a hit in our house however they do prefer the other types of apples but they will do for the price point.

I grabbed a pack of these the other day and honestly, I forgot how much I love Royal Galas. They’re hands down my favourite apple: sweet but with that little tang that stops them being boring. They were $2 cheaper than usual too, which made them taste even better (funny how that works). Nice and crisp when you bite into them, none of that soft, floury texture that ruins the whole experience. Proper crunch. They’ve been great chopped into fruit salad, but mostly I just throw one in my lunchbox for work and eat it as-is. Simple, healthy, no fuss. Very glad to see them back in stock because I’m already halfway through the pack and slightly rationing what’s left. Definitely buying again.
