really authentic tasting pesto, unsurprisingly as it’s made in Italy. it does has sunflower oil rather than olive oil, but that stops it from going solid in the fridge. super handy for a fast meal, just toss through cooked pasta. want some veg? chuck some frozen peas in with the pasta for the last minute of cooking - done!

This is a very smooth and creamy pesto. I use as a pizza sauce or mixed through a pasta salad. It’s not too oily. It is made with cashews not pinenuts which is how I make my own. The jar is easy to open which is important for me as I have weak hands.

This is my favourite pesto available from supermarkets. The pesto isn’t too oily, and has more of a creamy consistency. The flavour profile is mild in basil flavour (could be stronger) but isn’t bitter like some other processed pestos available. This cooks really well, and can be frozen (outside the jar) and reheated well also.

I got this from a Cole’s promo. unfortunately it didnt hit the spot for me. it’s made with sunflower oil so the olive oil flavour was missing. I will stick with making my own pesto.

This is a pretty decent product from Barilla, I always love pesto and usually make them fresh from basil and garlic and what nots but decided to get this from Coles for busy weeknights and I am happy to say it is well done. Of course it cannot be compared to freshly made from scratch at home but for what it is worth, it is not a bad product.

We found this pesto good but it lacked fomenting that was in the one we tried overseas but then again that was a freshly made version so this could explain the difference.
