Great pasta, doesn’t take long to cook and doesn’t break apart.

Always my choice to eat pasta. They cook really fast and they are very soft. 500g is enough for 2 or 3 serves.

Penne pasta is one of those pantry staples I always make sure to have on hand, and the 500g pack is the perfect size for a few solid meals. Whether I’m making a quick weeknight dinner or cooking for a group, penne never lets me down. I love the shape—those little tubes with the angled ends are perfect for holding onto sauce, especially thicker ones like bolognese or creamy mushroom. It cooks evenly, holds its texture well, and doesn’t go mushy unless you seriously overcook it. I usually boil it for about 10 minutes and it comes out just right—tender but still with a bit of bite. It’s super versatile too. I’ve used it in everything from cheesy baked pasta to simple pesto tosses and even cold pasta salads. It holds up really well either hot or cold, which makes leftovers just as good the next day. If you’re looking for a dependable, no-fuss pasta that suits all kinds of meals, penne in the 500g pack is a great go-to. It’s nothing fancy—but that’s kind of the point. It’s simple, reliable, and always hits the spot.

When does pasta not impress? Not only is it a filling and easy meal choice it also tastes great with all different types of sauces, either homemade or store bought. My kids eat pasta at least once a week and Penne is one of their favourites. This week we made a creamy Tuscan tomato chicken penne…absolute hit!
