I typically purchase my red onions at Aldi because I find that they usually have a good selection available and tend to keep their shelves stocked. I've noticed on other occasions that red onions seem to be often out of stock at some supermarket chains, or they only offer large quantities that can sometimes feel excessive if you only need a smaller amount. What's more, when you finally do manage to purchase red onions from these other supermarkets, you often find that they can be a bit out of date by the time they get home, which is certainly disappointing.
