They’re not really about quality—they’re about: “I loved this character” “This reminds me of that show” That emotional connection is the whole business model. Cute, stylized, and instantly recognizable with the oversized head and black eyes. They simplify characters a lot, which works for some (cartoon or comic styles) but can feel too generic for more detailed characters.
