instant snow works well and comes in a small packet that makes a lot more than you think, a fun thing to do with your children and the results although aren't perfect are pretty good. use to make fake snow around the bottom of a Christmas tree on a Christmas tree or even a snowball made from weird gum trees and beans I've never heard of doesn't sound toxic but I doubt you'd want to eat it.
