Gyprock CSR FibaFuse joint tape offers a modern alternative to traditional paper tape, with its open-fibre glass mat design allowing compound to penetrate through the tape, virtually eliminating bubbles and blisters while providing strong crack resistance. It’s thinner than paper, so joints feather out more smoothly and it performs especially well for repairs, flat seams, and in high-moisture areas thanks to its mould and mildew resistance. However, FibaFuse can be trickier in corners since it doesn’t have the convenient crease that paper tape provides, and it costs more per roll. Paper tape remains the more economical and time-tested choice, particularly for full installations and inside corners where its strength and foldability excel. In short, FibaFuse is excellent for quick, durable, and moisture-resistant joints, while paper tape still holds the edge for cost efficiency and crisp corners.
