We always buy spam once our pantry doesn’t have any! As a mum, I’ve always chosen this brand- it’s just a classic. Very easy to cook on a fry-pan, the salty flavour is unbeatable and my kids eat all of it!

Based on feedback from various retailers and users, SPAM Classic (Regular) 340g is highly regarded as a nostalgic, versatile, and convenient pantry staple, particularly praised for its flavor when fried. It generally holds a high rating, frequently cited for its savory, salty, and rich, pork-based taste. www.petitstresors.com.au +5 Here is a breakdown of user feedback and product details: Flavor and Texture Taste: Users describe it as a savory blend of pork and ham with a "sweet, salty, and smoky" flavor profile. Texture: It has a firm texture, often compared to a mix between sausage and bologna, which holds up well when sliced and pan-fried. Preparation: While it can be eaten straight from the can, it is best enjoyed when pan-fried, baked, or grilled to create a crispy exterior. www.petitstresors.com.au +4 Common Uses Dishes: Widely used in fried rice, pasta, casseroles, and breakfast dishes like eggs or hash. Sandwiches: A popular choice for a hearty, quick lunch. Global Cuisine: It is a staple in many cuisines, particularly for Hawaiian musubi, Korean dishes (budae jjigae), and Filipino meals. www.petitstresors.com.au +4 Pros and Cons Pros: Long shelf life, fully cooked, very convenient, versatile, and generally loved for its distinct, savory taste. Cons: Very high in sodium and fat. Some users find the taste too salty, while others have noted a change in density in recent years, describing it as sometimes having a "water-like substance" inside, though this seems to be a minority opinion. Reddit +5 Nutritional Information (Approx. per 56g serving) Calories: ~180 Fat: ~16g Protein: ~7g Sodium: Very high (approx. 520mg–1000mg+ depending on regional formulation) Woolworths +3 Pricing & Availability Price: Generally ranges between 5.80 AUD and 6.84 AUD for a 340g can in Australian stores. Availability: Widely available at major supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths). For those concerned about sodium or fat, users often recommend the "Less Sodium" or "Lite" versions as alternatives that still retain the classic taste.

great if camping and packing long life food or if money is really tight, otherwise the concept of tinned meat is awful and I wouldn’t eat.

It would be a bit salty if you don't put any other things with the tinned meat. I usually put this tinned meat into fried rice with onion and vegetables which makes the rice more tasty without adding extra salt.
