Review for Fisherman’s Friend Fresh Sugar Free Mints I recently tried these mint
Review for Fisherman’s Friend Fresh Sugar Free Mints I recently tried these mints and found them to be much stronger than your typical breath mint. The first thing you notice is the intense menthol hit – it’s very refreshing and instantly clears your airways, which makes it great not just for fresh breath but also when you have a slightly sore throat. These lozenges were originally created for fishermen in harsh conditions, which explains why the cooling effect is so powerful. The flavour is clean and minty, but definitely not sweet like regular mints. Since they are 99% sugar-free, they’re a good option if you’re watching your sugar intake or want something low-calorie (only about 18kJ per lozenge). The texture is firm and long-lasting, so one mint can last quite a while compared to softer mints or chewing gum. Pros: * Very strong and long-lasting freshness * Helps soothe the throat and clear nasal passages * Sugar-free, low calorie, and suitable for dietary needs (vegan/gluten-free) * Compact packaging, easy to carry around Cons: * The menthol strength can be too intense, especially if you’re not used to it * Not very sweet – may not appeal if you prefer milder or sweeter mints * Can feel slightly harsh on the throat if taken in large amounts * Contains sweeteners like sorbitol, which may cause discomfort if overconsumed Overall: These are not your average mints – they’re more like a cross between a breath mint and a throat lozenge. I’d recommend them if you want something strong, functional, and refreshing, but if you prefer a light, sweet mint, these might feel a bit overpowering.
